Kid Rock lands on top with his latest effort “Rock & Roll Jesus” earning the #1 position on Billboards Album Chart. First week sales of the Top Dog/Atlantic Records effort lead the nation with unit sales of 170,000. For the record, this was not the Kid’s best week ever, selling 475,000 units of “History of Rock” in it’s first week for a #4 debut, but was enough to give Rock his highest chart position in his career. Kid Rock also announced to that his longtime manager, “Punch” Andrews, is retiring after seeing this album through it’s release. Vector Management of Nashville has been named as a replacement. Brian Schram Band News

on .

The Brian Schram Band has changed their name! No longer known as “Brian Schram”, or “The Brian Schram Band”, not even “Schram Band” will work. From now on this hot threesome from the Motor City will simply be known as “Schram”. Hey what ever! These guys rock no matter what they are called! Further news finds “Schram” up in Winnipeg, Manitoba this week at the “Winnipeg Studio” recording a new album! That’s right, with their latest “Disturbing The Peace” released this past June, the boys are back in the studio laying down some new tracks. Details are slim, but as you all know it takes a while for new recordings to come to fruitation, and I imagine this one will be out sometime next year. The good thing is that we’ll finally get to hear a full Disc of the band’s new drummer Jason Hartless on this one, having only a guest appearance on the Disturbing The Peace disc for the “White Room” track. As new updates come available we’ll post ‘em here to keep everyone up to date.

The Lager House is NOT Closing!

on .

From The Lager Guys-

NO! For the umpteenth time, NO! The Lager House may, in the next few weeks, be transferring ownership. But, nothing about The Lager House will change. It's still going to be the same shit hole you love going to. The bathrooms may see some renovation, thank god. But, other than that there will be very few changes. Yes, it's true. Rich and Jay are no longer booking shows at the Lager House. They're just burnt out and need a break. Rich did an awesome job for six years, but now he's moving on. So, if you're looking to book a show, send a message on myspace, mail your shit into the Lager, Attn: Aaron @ 1254 Michigan Ave., Detroit, MI 48226 or e-mail your information to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We're still booking bands, we just have a little gap due to the changeover in booking. So, wipe your tears you fucking morons and come up for a drink. Since we don't have bands right now, it's a perfect time for you to bring up your ipod, plug it into that monstrosity of a tuner, jam out to YOUR favorite music and drink, drink, drink. Aaron's working tonight so come up and buy him a shot. Don't give him crap about the bar "closing" cuz now you know what's really going on. Just shut up and drink!

Tecumseh Indie Fest Debuts October 27th

on .

A new “Fest” hits the Detroit area this fall. Born out of the “boredom” of life in small town Michigan, the Tecumseh Indie Fest 2007 will make its debut at the Tecumseh Center For The Arts in Downtown Tecumseh, Michigan on October 27th beginning at 6:30 pm. The local band from Tecumseh Michigan, “Ace On A Detour”, had finally become frustrated with having to travel to other areas for entertainment. According to the band’s manager, Matt Mejia, “This is actually the first year of Indie Fest. It came about initially because the local band that I work with, Ace On A Detour (AOAD), and I were bored in our small town. We wanted something to do here. We're tired of going to other places to have fun. So we set up this show” At first, looking to garner some publicity for their band, AOAD quickly realized that something bigger was brewing from within. Mejia explains, “We also decided to do something to help people. We are donating a large portion of our revenue to a local Habitat For Humanity project. A family lost their house in a fire and that same week, the father of the house was in a car accident and was paralyzed. We felt this to be a very good cause, so we are working with many organizations to make this show happen in order to help this family.” Well Dr2 thinks this is a “Good Cause” also, and with an “all star” line up like this one, it should be a huge success.  Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, though you will probably want to bring more money to buy band merch and food. There are plans to have a live DVD/CD made of the show, so wear your favorite clothes in case you wind up in any of the shots. Tickets are available from the TCA box office or by phone @517-423-6617.
