The Orbitsuns Host “Love Stinks” An Alternative Valentines Day Party at Four Green Fields

Well another week of the TNT’s / 89X I’m With The Band is now complete with Nine8Stall taking the On-Line voting portion and gaining 1/3 of the total to win, edging out Tiny Lightning followed by Kardo, Dharma Initiative, & Deadringer. So again it was off to TNT’s to determine the winner in the “Door Vote”, and “Live Performance” portions of the Week 4 competition. The winner must win 2 of the 3 phases, so having the online vote in your pocket definitely gives you a leg up on the rest of the bands. In the performance portion of the show it was Tiny Lightning that blew away the competition to win this 1/3 of the total. So after 2/3 of the Week 4 competition done, the winner would be decided tonight by the Door Vote. Needless to say, if you do not get support at your shows, especially when so much is depending on your fans showing up, you most likely aren’t going to be winning $10,000. Tonight was no different as Nine8Stall slightly edged out Tiny Lightning to win this 1/3, giving them 2/3 of the overall votes to win Week 4 and move onto the semifinals and a chance @ the $10,000 grand prize! They now join Band With No Name, Spades Alone,  and Arazi who get to record a new single over at Metro Recorders Studio, and a chance at $10,000 and a 5-song EP. Week 5 voting is now under way with Jive, Lithium, Gifthorse, Madonna Brothers, and Cobalt Revolution Party, so head on over to the I’m With The Band MySpace page to vote for your favorite! Round 3 of the  89X I’m With The Band 2.0 $10,000 Battle of the Bands Contest presented by TNT’s is now complete. The on-line voting phase started off a close race and had a couple of lead changes early on in the week before Arazi pulled ahead of Category 5 to capture phase 1 of this huge contest, followed by Mound Road Engine & Quixotic. So with 1/3 of the needed votes in Arazi’s pocket, it was off to TNT’s for a night of live performances and a contest to see who will draw the most fans. Awful close call again, but with that many Arazi shirts in the house, it should come as no surprise that they took phase 2 of the contest also. With the contest now squarely in their corner, Arazi & their fans put out one tremendous effort up on the stage to win the Judges vote and nabbed a sweep for the night! Arazi will not be heading into Metro Recorders Studio to complete a single for the upcoming 89X compilation album that is due out later this year. The win also moves them into the Semi-Finals in May and a chance at scoring the Big Prize of $10,000 & A 5-song EP! Remember week 4 voting starts Today at 12 Noon with Tiny Lightning, Dharma Initiative, Nine 8 Stall going head to head in the online voting that will last till next Thursday 1/31/09 @ 12 Noon. Last night over at TNT’s was Week 2 of the TNT’s / 89X “I’m With The Band 2.0” $10,000 giveaway that will run for a total of 16 weeks. After a week of “Online Voting”, Konnipition Fit won that phase with a total of 756 votes, followed by Red Letter Anthem with 478, Spades Alone with 354, with B-Dab finishing last with 85. Yes you read that right, 85 votes, makes you wonder. Anyways, with 1/3 of the total votes needed to win Week 2, Konnipition Fit clearly had the upper hand, needing to win only one of the 2 phases last night, either the “Door Votes” or the “Judges Votes”. The set order tonight was as follows: Red Letter Anthem went up first, followed by Spades Alone, B-Dab, and closing the night was Konnipition Fit. After a full night of rock & roll, the winners of the 2 phases tonight were announced with Spades Alone winning the “Door Vote” to pull them into a virtual tie with Konnipition Fit. Battling it out on stage would have to decide the winner tonight and with that came the big surprise of the night as Spades Alone was announced as the “Judges Vote” winner, giving them the out right win in Week 2 of the contest. With the win, Spades Alone will get to record one song to be released on the upcoming 89X compilation disc, and a spot in the semi-finals in May with a shot at winning $10,000 and Studio Time at Metro Recorders Studio to record a 5 song EP! No time to rest though, Week 3 voting has begun today @ Noon, and will last until Thursday, January 24^th @ Noon with Arazi, Mound Road Engine, Quixotic, Category 5 going head to head to see who wins the round!
