The Blow Out Begins!
The Blowout jumped out of the starting gate last night with their yearly Kick-Off Party held inside Detroit's Majestic Complex with a new format that, although smaller, appeared to work out just fine, bringing everyone together in a more intimate setting. Held mainly in the confines of the Magic Stick, along with the Café downstairs, the Kick Off Party is always a great way to run into all the bands who are in the house picking up their credentials for the Blowout. The Mirror Twin had the Café rockin early on, while Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr revved it up on the Stick's Main Stage, while on a new twist this year, the Sugarcoats rocked out the 2nd Stage, adding a bit of a festival mood to the night. Doop & The Inside Outlaws dropped maybe their best set we've ever heard, while blues rockers Cannon rolled on the 2nd stage, before the Punk Fitness girls took over the stick with their take on exercise. The Blowout continues tonight as it invades the streets of Hamtramck with action going down in 15 different venues. tonight this little burg will resemble a road rally, every one moving from venue to venue by bus, car, or foot! Black Irish, 60 Second Crush, Bat on Fire, and Michael Seger & EFB look like good bet tonight, coninuing a tradition that has been rolling through this iconic town for 13 years! Check back again as Dr2 hits the streets in a mad attempt to catch as many acts as possible! DetroitRockReview.com The Only Place for Local music News & Reviews!
