Birch Run, MI - Dirt Fest 2012 will take place this Saturday August 11^th at the Birch Run Expo Center located alongside I-75. Sponsored by Flint’s Banana 101.5 and brought to you by Dalton Bros Entertainment,  Dirt Fest is a unique festival with it’s origins as a local band showcase that started back in 1996. Since then, Dirt Fest has been growing by leaps and bounds from it’s beginnings in a local park with local bands, to it’s current home on the grounds of the Birch Run Expo Center, and a main stage devoted to some of the best touring national acts around.

 

Headlining this year’s Dirt Fest is Clutch, but the real treat will be the return of Chiodos, a hometown favorite who literally are from “down the street”. Craig Owens returns to front the band that has been performing together since their Davison High School days, reviving the original line-up that last performed together the Warped Tour 2009.

 

Local band Wilson grabs the spotlight as they perform on the Déjà vu / Little Darlings Main Stage just before Clutch hits the stage with bands like Hurt, The Dreaming, In This Moment, Royal Bliss, Smile Empty Soul, and My Darkest Days fill out the remainder of the day.

 

Along with the Metro37 Studios Acoustic Stage, where some of the nights national bands will also be playing, there are 3 more stages that will bring the best in the local & national bands together. Look for sets from some of the states hottest bands like Critical Bill, Citizen Zero, Hell Rides North, ShockWave, Core Effect, Drawn to Fury, The Product, and more in what is becoming THEE festival to play in Michigan.
