DETROIT, MI - 06/16/2011 - Progressive, intellectual rockers Bat On Fire are currently in the final stages of writing and recording their third full-length effort in a series of concept albums based on important events in human history. The new album, based on the infamous London serial killer Jack The Ripper, is being recorded and engineered at Stu Stu Studio in Livonia, MI by BOF drummer and audio engineer John Kay along with the band. “We are incredibly excited about this album, and can’t wait to share it with our fans, the rest of Detroit, and beyond,” says John, adding, “There are deep embedded secrets, and it’s bigger and more involved than anything we’ve ever done; it’s going to be the album our fans wish we made from the beginning.”
Nominated for Outstanding Rock/Pop Recording at the Detroit Music Awards in 2010 for their Modern Greek allegory, Escape From Hades, Bat On Fire consistently put countless hours of research and thought into crafting their musical art. The band debuted material from the upcoming Ripper album at their sold out, headlining show in the Crofoot Ballroom last August, and will perform more new material on Sunday, July 3 at the 2011 Stars and Stripes Festival in Mt. Clemens.
