The Hard Edge Radio Show 1st Anniversary Bash
One of Detroit’s Favorite Underground Rock Radio Shows Celebrates Its First Year w/ Bands and Booze
Detroit, MI - An idea that started out on Feb 16th 2012 with just a vision and some passion has turned out to be something that was actually wanted and needed, probably more then most realized. The Hard Edge Radio Show, a locally made underground radio show that caters to both the local and national hard rock and metal scenes, has successfully made it through its first year. Not only has it lasted, it’s celebrated some pretty major accomplishments and some “pretty big” things have happened over the last 12 months. Some highlights of the year include interviews with some of the hottest and most popular national acts, including: Volbeat, Killswitch Engage, P.O.D., Dream Theater, Hank Williams III, Overkill, Hatebreed and Chevelle just to name a few. The Hard Edge has also picked up 2 different syndications over the year and has a few more that will be coming in the very near future. “I can’t believe how much this thing is growing and how appreciative the local musicians and fans are for having this show” says Howie “D”, the show’s host, “I honestly would have been happy with half the success we’ve had so the fact that it’s really growing like this is mind blowing”. The show also features Howies co-host and partner in crime, the tattooed and proud…Leyna Nicole.
To celebrate this incredible last year, The Hard Edge is throwing a big “1st Anniversary Bash” on March 9th at The Ritz Concert Venue in Warren with an A game line-up of some of the best in local hard rock and metal. The show will feature the intense 80’s thrash and hair metal sounds of Wulfhook, hot new outlaw rockers Dead In 5,(featuring ex-members of Mansfield Park and 60 Second Crush), the high energy craziness of Crackjaw and the straight up hard rockin' sounds of Ignoring The Echoes. The show will also feature the band 3 Phase, who have been making a good name for themselves lately, and metal heads Through Our Eyes will be opening with a special acoustic set.
In addition to all the great live acts playing March 9th, the anniversary bash has a special guest host for the night. Dave Holowchak, lead singer for local break out hard rockers Ghosts of August will be the special host/emcee. “I’m pumped to be a part of this event” says Dave, “The Hard Edge and a few other shows have really been doing good things for the local scene”.
The Ritz is located at 24300 Hoover Road in Warren, MI. Hoover just south of 10 Mile. Admission is just $5 for 20 and up, $7 for 18-20 year olds. Doors at 7:30pm, bands start at 8:30pm sharp.
