THE INFATUATIONS
UNLEASH THEIR LATEST EP
RECORDED LIVE IN FRONT OF A STUDIO AUDIENCE
Ferndale, MI - Detroit’s eight piece (8) soulful funk rock band, The Infatuations, are unleashing their first LIVE EP, Recorded Live in Front of a Studio Audience, on Saturday February 18, 2012 at the Magic Bag Theatre in Ferndale, Michigan. This six (6) song EP will be released nationwide digitally on Tuesday February 21, 2012. The studio version of “Blame it on You,” is a bonus track featured on the CD and only available for a limited time.
The Infatuations are comprised of Metro Detroit’s heaviest hitting musicians in the industry including Christian Draheim of Detroit (Lead guitar/back-up vocals), Caleb Gutierrez of Southgate (Lead vocals), Chris Polite of Detroit (Guitar/back-up vocals), Maureen Honoré of Birmingham (Lead vocals), J.T. Lee of Howell (Drums/back-up vocals), Robert Myers of Plymouth (Percussion/drums/back-up vocals), Nick Behnan of Canton (Lead Guitar) and The Wolf of Walled Lake (Bass).
“It’s funny, I don’t think it’s intentional that we draw from all the legendary genres that originate from Detroit like Motown Soul and MC5 Rock, commented Christian Draheim. “I think just living, working and playing in Detroit the inspiration comes natural. Unlike other bands that mine Detroit’s rich musical history for a hipster effect, The Infatuations have lived and breathed this music our entire lives, so writing these songs was inevitable regardless of if it’s cool or not.”
“Blame It on You”; the first single from the new EP, was recently turned into a music video by Madonna University’s Capstone Film Class, under the instruction of Jennifer Champagne. “We were so excited when we were approached for this incredible opportunity, Draheim commented. “I feel like the video just brings the music to life that much more.” The music video for “Blame It on You,” has been submitted for a student Emmy. “Blame It on You” also caught the attention legendary producer duo, Al Sutton and Eric Hoegemeyer from Rustbelt Studio who have now offered The Infatuations a three(3) song spec deal after mixing the song.
The Infatuations took home the 2011 vitaminwater “People’s Choice Award” at this year’s Detroit Music Awards as the result of receiving 1/3 of over 5,000 consumer votes.
In addition to being a founding member of The Infatuations, Draheim spends a majority of his time touring with Atlantic Recording Artist Ty Stone and The Truth as a guitarist. In fact, Draheim had a dream become a reality last year when he got to play Ford Field with Ty Stone and The Truth as the opening act for Kid Rock’s 40th Birthday Party and the first leg of Born Free tour.
Opening for The Infatuations are Joe Jaber and The Last Divide, JIVA, and Class Three Overbite.
