With fans responding to the band’s commanding live show; Citizen Zero decided the time was right for a music video. They chose their emotive single “Destroy Me Beautifully.” The song is about “the girl who turns your entire world upside down – leading you to believe in one thing...and then forcing you to question everything. It's about exposing every ounce of who you are to someone, only to be cast aside for reasons unknown,” explains Citizen Zero lead singer Josh Mayle.
Tapping Emmy nominated producer/director John Mabilia, owner of ThirdIFilms, to direct the video, the band is excited to premiere “Destroy Me Beautifully” at the Emerald Theatre – where it was shot in its entirety. Mayle told us that “I’m excited for the night! It was an amazing day shooting with Mabilia, and now to see the finished product, well lets just say it was a great experience to be involved with a professional production! This is our next big step on our journey forward and we are excited to see and hear what our fans think of it!”
Ghosts of August has been tearing up commercial radio with their potent rock single “Disease,” – even securing regular rotation on 89x – no easy feat for an independent band. “Our sound and songs are meant to connect with the audience on a deeper level,” states lead singer Dave Holowchak, “but we also understand that there is a fine line between creating art-for-art’s sake and coming up with songs and material that have commercial appeal.” Ghosts of August’s massive hooks, crushing instrumentation, creative introspection and evocative lyrics are a perfect balance between art and appeal.
