Local Country Girl Making Big Waves
Local Detroit based country artist Justine Blazer has been making some waves around town the past few years and now it appears those waves are carrying her voice further out across the Midwest where she’s hoping to catch some national exposure. Justine Blazer is definitely a woman of her own making, being in the limelight from early on, she has taken her career into her own hands, handling everything from promotions, management, and even booking duties. Not one to stand pat on any hand, Justine has positioned herself to succeed not only in music, but has been able to educate herself as she is also attending Eastern Michigan University while maintaining her hectic schedule. Using MySpace as herrrnumber one vehicle to the top, she is currently listed as the #1 Unsigned Blues Artist in the country on the MySpace "Top Artist" charts, #16 (unsigned) in the country for the southern rock charts and is also #1 in Michigan for unsigned country artist. Not bad for a 24 year old country star who has preffered to only “visit” Nashville, unlike another ex-Detroiter, who’ll go unnamed, that fronts the band The White Stripes. Check out our previous Show Review of Justine Blazer from last summer, and while you’re at it, Detroit’s Strut Magazine has an awesome article in this month’s edition too! Justine’s latest CD “Red, White, and Blue" was released late last year and has yielded a number of great songs so get on out and catch her this weekend over at the Greektown Casino or next week during the Blowout. To find a show close to you check out Justine’s MySpace page where you can see her mammoth schedule and hear her awesome tunes, find her in our “Top Friends” on our MySpace page or in the Dr2 Links.
