Dawghouse Dismantled! 9-21-07

Send out the Red Alert! The Dawghouse has been “Dismantled!” And Dr2 isn’t joking about this one baby! Wow, if you missed this CD Release Party for “More Rock & Roll” from Dismantle, listen up then as this party was a huge success! Upon arriving at the Dawghouse, Dr2 wa s taken aback by the shear mass of vehicles parked around the place. We followed the overflow of cars across the street to park! OK, looked like a party to us as we squeezed in through the front door, as da diggity was certainly filled to capacity! Having missed the first act of the night, Sour Mash, we slid to the front of the stage as SyPher was just beginning their set. We talk about stumbling across those “I’ve never heard of them before” bands, and this was similar to one of those. We had heard of them, but never seen these guys, as we were here to celebrate the release of “More Rock & Roll”. So getting to see these ex-Liquid Reality guys “live” was a real treat as they threw down one hell of a set. Playing through some early technical difficulties, SyPher rocked out to a shortened 7 song set that included “Kill The Coward”, “Confessions”, and a new twist on LA Woman that all the women in the house just loved! With no CD out yet, the guys tell Dr2 that they are currently setting up their own studio to lay done some tracks with the intention of sending it out for mastering. We’ll keep our eyes on these guys as they work the Detroit scene, and you’ll hear about the new cd here, as soon as Dr2 does. Up at New York, New York on October 6th, you can them catch them live, or jump on over to their site here @ www.myspace.com/syphermusic and check them out yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

During the load out/in, we had the opportunity to talk up the guys from not only SyPher, but Dismantle also. Being their CD Release party, they had the Merch Table set up with loads of shirts and discs and a line all night long! Dr2 had secured a copy of this disc and actually, we're listening to it right now as we will be preparing a CD Review for the site a little later on. (side note here-since getting our copy at the Critical Bill show at the Emerald Thursday, I haven’t had it out of the player yet! Go get it!) With the Dawghouse crammed full, Dismantle was definitely the band all came to see tonight as you could barely move through the place. As usual we found are way to the front of the mass as Dismantle began to “Dismantle” the Dawghouse. These guys are all about that straight up rock & roll, and their set tonight gave us all of that and more! Giving us “More Rock & Roll” they had the place pumping as the “Dismantle Girls” surrounded the stage. Consisting of Justin Herbert (vox, guitars), Glynn Somma (guitar), Brad Causley (bass), and Eric Brodzic (drums), these guys had the place in a frenzy, feeding off the crowd as much as we were them, slamming out my favorite “Smokin’ and Drinkin”, then bringing it down a notch for “Life at the Top” which turned into one big sing along! They were amazing as they showed everybody on Groesbeck tonight, just what a little More Rock & Roll can do for your soul! Dismantle planned a party tonight, and a party is what they gave all who dared to enter the Dawghouse! With a slew of shows coming up, you won’t be short of opportunities to catch these guys for your self, so check out the gig calendar to find their dates! And make sure you keep your eyes on Dr2 as we’ll soon be posting our review of the new “More Rock & Roll” CD by Dismantle. If you can’t wait then stop by and check out Dismantle on their website here @dismantledetroit.com -until later keep on rockin!
