Detroit Music Awards is Open To Everyone!
The annual gathering of Detroit Area Musicians takes place this Friday April 16th down at the Fillmore-Detroit in what has become thee must attend event for all involved in the local Detroit Music Scene. Now in its 19th year, the DMA's, as they're called, is a lavish event that brings together the music community in one locale for one night only, giving the community a chance to mingle. Although it is an event that celebrates the local music community, this event is also open to everyone, including YOU the fan! What better way to support your favorite artist than to come on down and have a drink or two with them while they all wait for their names to be announced the winner! This year looks to be quite the night with live performances from Jimmy McCarty's Hell Drivers, Critical Bill, The Sun Messengers, Julianne Ankely, and more! This year the Motor City Music Foundation, who organizes the event, will be giving out Distinguished Achievement Awards to The Rockets, Sun Messenger's, and Thunder Audio, so you may just be surprised who you may bump into!
