Two Great Bands Equal One Awesome Party at Ferndale’s Magic Bag October 12

Citizen ZeroDetroit, MI - Two stellar Metro Detroit rock bands - Citizen Zero and Core Effect - celebrate the release of their respective EPs at one great party on Friday October 12 at the Magic Bag in Ferndale, Michigan. Doors are at 7:30 pm and ages 18 and over are welcome to attend. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door and are available now on ticketweb.com and the Magic Bag Theatre Box Office.  Alternative pop-rockers Royal Hoax and acoustic songstress Moriah Sultes open the show.

Citizen Zero's sophomore EP "Life Explodes" features six blistering tracks, including fan favorites "Love To Hate" and "Crooked." Produced by Kid Rock's longtime recording engineer Al Sutton at his Rustbelt Studios in Royal Oak, Michigan, the EP includes lead guitar work on two songs by the late Matt Dudley, plus songwriting and other various contributions by an illustrious list of Detroit rock royalty, including Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge, Crud), Citizen Zero Core EffectTwisted Brown Trucker lead guitarist Marlon Young, and vocalist Herschel Boone. “This EP is dedicated to Matt Dudley. We were fortunate enough to have him play on two of the six tracks. We miss him, and hope we did him proud,” explains Josh Mayle, Citizen Zero’s lead singer.  With new lead guitarist Sammy Boller on board, Citizen Zero proves that their unique brand of potent Detroit rock is not only powerful, but also resilient.

Core Effect has created a monster this year. Its name is "Rubicon". Formed in 2007, Core Effect's music has been described as heavy, modern, hook-driven rock with an experimental edge. In 2012, their trademark harmonies are as powerful as ever, and they have pushed their musical envelope with "Rubicon’s” six compelling tracks. “The word Rubicon means the point of no return,” explains Core Effect bassist and vocalist Randy Riddle. “It’s a statement that we want to perfect the art of no limits and shed the skin of our former selves. With ˜Rubicon” we feel we have captured our lightning in a bottle, and are ready to unleash it to the world.” Core Effect fans can expect an unparalleled live show. Adds Riddle; “we are going to pour our hearts out on stage in the hopes that fans leave the show with our songs in their heads.”

With Detroit alt-rock-pop neophytes Royal Hoax and acoustic songstress Moriah Sultes opening the show, this will be a jam-packed night of extraordinary rock and roll!
