Citizen Zero Unveils “Destroy Me Beautifully” Video with guests Ghosts of August

Modern Rock Heavyweights to Co-Headline Emerald Theatre on February 24

Citizen ZeroTwo of Metro Detroit’s fastest rising rock acts will co-headline the Emerald Theatre on Friday February 24, 2012.  Citizen Zero and Ghosts of August will rock the Mt. Clemens venue from 7 pm  - 11 pm.  Tickets are just $10 (at the door or in advance via the Emerald Theatre box office or Ticketmaster) and ALL AGES are welcome to attend.

Opening the show are Chaos Rains and Not Enough Indians. Fans can meet the bands at a VIP After Party in the Emerald Theatre’s Rock Room following the show. Tickets for this exclusive, limited capacity party sponsored by High Liquors will be available for just $5 after the show.

Ghosts of AugustProduced by Kid Rock’s recording engineer Al Sutton, Citizen Zero has quickly established themselves as one of Metro Detroit’s most in-demand acts.  Since forming in early 2010, Citizen Zero has performed at practically every major Michigan festival - most notably Royal Oak’s Arts, Beats and Eats, Mt. Clemens’ Stars and Stripes, Port Huron’s Blue Water Festival and Detroit’s River Days.

With fans responding to the band’s commanding live show; Citizen Zero decided the time was right for a music video.  They chose their emotive single “Destroy Me Beautifully.”  The song is about “the girl who turns your entire world upside down – leading you to believe in one thing...and then forcing you to question everything. It's about exposing every ounce of who you are to someone, only to be cast aside for reasons unknown,” explains Citizen Zero lead singer Josh Mayle.

Tapping Emmy nominated producer/director John Mabilia, owner of ThirdIFilms, to direct the video, the band is excited to premiere “Destroy Me Beautifully” at the Emerald Theatre – where it was shot in its entirety. Mayle told us that “I’m excited for the night! It was an amazing day shooting with Mabilia, and now to see the finished product, well lets just say it was a great experience to be involved with a professional production!   This is our next big step on our journey forward and we are excited to see and hear what our fans think of it!”

Citizen Zero FlyerGhosts of August has been tearing up commercial radio with their potent rock single “Disease,” – even securing regular rotation on 89x – no easy feat for an independent band. “Our sound and songs are meant to connect with the audience on a deeper level,” states lead singer Dave Holowchak, “but we also understand that there is a fine line between creating art-for-art’s sake and coming up with songs and material that have commercial appeal.” Ghosts of August’s massive hooks, crushing instrumentation, creative introspection and evocative lyrics are a perfect balance between art and appeal.  Just added to ROCK ON THE RANGE featuring Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson, and currently traversing the country on a national tour in support of their debut self-titled CD, Ghosts of August’s Emerald Theatre performance is the perfect opportunity to see the band perform their “haunting, brutal and modern” sound in their home state.

With energized alternative rockers Chaos Rain and Not Enough Indians opening the show, plus vendors Wrighteous Jewelry, The Lesson Rooms and Detroit Label Clothing Company, this is a rock and roll PARTY not to be missed!

The Emerald Theatre is located at 31 N. Walnut Street in downtown Mt. Clemens, Michigan. For ticket information please call the box office at 586-913-1921.
